Murder At Lost Lake
Inspector Hilary Casgrain and the other Elk Ridge PD officers are scrambling. Four victims in one day is a bleak and frightening record.
The disaster starts with a horrific death at the hot springs and doesn’t end until the discovery of the other bodies.
Elk Ridge is a popular tourist spot. The picturesque mountain setting, late winter weather, and student spring break mean the community is bustling with visitors. One sunny afternoon, a tour bus delivers the members of a photography club to town. Not all will be returning home.
Meanwhile, the first victim is identified as Elwood Church, a wealthy mine owner, whose only living relative is his 15-year-old grandson. Could he be the next target? With the mine’s board of directors facing a crucial vote and several environmental issues on the table, there is no shortage of suspects for Hilary and her team.
The investigation is just beginning when there’s a second crisis. A member of the department is cornered. A citizen is alleging the worst type of harassment, and Hilary is torn. Defend her officer, no matter what? Or launch an investigation that threatens to destroy the trust she has worked so hard to build?
Can Hilary and her team restore the reputation of the town and confidence in her leadership before any further bloodshed?
